Required
- Learners will demonstrate an understanding of business style and tone through their use of active, concise, and clear written language.
- Learners will demonstrate emotional intelligence by crafting a business message that addresses audience needs related to personal, business, technological, cultural, and other contextual factors.
- Learners will demonstrate their ability to construct a cogent written argument that is supported by reasons and evidence and grounded in factual research.
- Learners will demonstrate their ability to follow standard conventions and expectations of written language in a professional business setting.
- Participation in 1 CBC workshop: CBC workshops will provide greater understanding of, and practice with, communication skills that are important to success in the business community and applicable to a variety of situations. Workshops will cover a variety of special topics and concerns.
- Participation in 3 consultations with the CBC that are focused on the creation or revision of written documents: These consultations will provide individualized instruction to help learners identify personal strengths and patterns of weakness in their writing.
Learners will demonstrate their mastery of written communication by earning a 90+ on a writing assignment in a Rawls College course or by receiving a recommendation from a Rawls College faculty member who endorses their writing ability.
